Human and here for it
Welcome back...to you and me
“It is human to fear the unknown. Human to want to stay safe. Human to fear fear. Human to seek comfort. Human to want to protect our vulnerability.
Human to hide our humanity, and therefore our vulnerability for fear we will be shunned, rejected, ridiculed and shamed for it.
But it is so human…and it is beautiful.”
These words appear at the end of my last post in December last year.
And today I am choosing to be human and to let you see me ( and hear me) be human in a new way for me - via unscripted audio…
This is what I hope is the beginning of my return to my purpose and joy: to share with you what I am learning and unlearning on the journey of becoming wiser and kinder.
The fear I have been fearing is still with me, but thanks to the compassionate wisdom of Brene Brown, Glennon Doyle, Martha Beck, Elizabeth Gilbert and Susan Jeffers, I have changed my relationship to it and am using it to guide me toward that which I value - making a positive difference to the lives of others.
If you have any thoughts, feelings or responses about this post please feel free to share in the comments - you’d be amazed at how powerful it is to for others to read your response. And the sense of connection and community builds which is a really beautiful thing in a world that can feel lonely and daunting.
With love and gratitude, Gena xx
